The Alcázar of Segovia

The Alcázar of Segovia is a stone fortification, located in the old city of Segovia, Spain. Victoria Peak is a mountain in Hong Kong. It is also known as Mount Austin, and locally as The Peak. The mountain is located in the western half of Hong Kong Island. The Marina Bay Sands will be Singapore's first casino, being developed by one of the world's biggest gambling companies, Las Vegas Sands, at Marina South in central Singapore. Marina Bay Sands will feature three 55 storey hotel towers which were topped out in July 2009. The three towers will be connected with a 1 hectare sky terrace on the roof.

World Tower

World Tower is a 230 m (750 ft) skyscraper located at 91 Liverpool Street, Sydney, Australia. Construction began in 2001 and was completed in 2004. It was constructed by Meriton Apartments Pty Ltd, which is owned by developer Harry Triguboff. World Tower was the 2004 Bronze recipient of the Emporis Skyscraper Award, and was briefly Australia's tallest residential building. The architect was Nation Fender Katsalidis.

World Tower consists of 73 above-ground levels, 10 basement levels, 15 elevators and 701 residential units. Each of the three residential sections of the building has a pool, spa, sauna, gymnasium, games room, virtual golf driving range, and a private 24-seat theatrette. The pool and spa areas on levels 38 and 61 offer 180° views of Sydney. There is also a childcare centre located in the building.

Landmark Tower

This building is formerly known as the BMA Building. It is located south of downtown at the intersection of Southwest Tfwy and 31st Street, directly across from the Fox 4 News building and towers, and on the same block as Penn Valley skatepark.

Built in 1964, Landmark Tower was originally designed by architects at Skidmore, Owings and Merrill, who also designed the Plaza Center Building at 800 West 47th Street. Its structural grid, which is clad in white Georgian marble, is projected out in front of the actual building.

Landmark Tower also earned the First Honor Award in 1964 from the American Institute of Architects. It was also featured in a 1965 exhibit by New York's Museum of Modern Art.

Renovation began in 2003. The only opposition occurred when developers wanted to build additional residential facilities inside the park adjacent to the tower. The developers from One Park Place have stated that the tower will hold between 150 and 200 residential units. Gastinger Walker Harden Architects is working with the developers on the renovations, respecting the original design, which was inspired by the "International" style.

People's Park

People's Park in Berkeley, California, USA is a park off Telegraph Avenue, bounded by Haste and Bowditch Streets and Dwight Way, near the University of California, Berkeley. The park was created during the radical political activism of the late 1960s.

Today People's Park serves as a free public park. Although accessible to members of the larger community, the park serves mainly as a daytime sanctuary for Berkeley's large homeless population who, along with others, take advantage of meals offered by East Bay Food Not Bombs. Public restrooms are available, and the park offers innovative demonstration gardens, including organic community gardening beds and areas landscaped with California native plants, all of which were user-developed by volunteer gardeners.

Snowbird is an unincorporated area based in Little Cottonwood Canyon in the Wasatch Range of the Rocky Mountains in Salt Lake County, Utah, United States. It is perhaps most famous for the Snowbird ski resort, an alpine skiing and snowboarding area, which opened in December 1971.

Snowbird is a multi-facility winter and summer resort located in Little Cottonwood Canyon, Utah. Primarily known for it's challenging winter powder skiing and snowboarding, the Snowbird resort also hosts hikers, mountain bikers, fishermen, sightseers, and mountain vacationers in other seasons. Set among spectacular crenelated granite mountain peaks, facilities include ski lifts, hotels, condominiums, spa facilities, restaurants, skiing and mountain-resort-related retail businesses, medical services, heli-services and others.

Snowbird was imagined, named, and developed by Ted Johnson, a surfer who attended San Jose State University with prominent watercolor artist Dave McGuire and 49'ers football coach Bill Walsh. For nearly a decade, Johnson managed the Alta Lodge in the town of Alta at the head of Little Cottonwood Canyon.

During that period he explored the terrain below Alta in the Peruvian Gulch and Emma Mine/Gad Valley water sheds that later became Snowbird. Vision, drive, and fortuitous acquaintances made at the Alta Lodge made it possible for Johnson to begin development of the Snowbird Resort. Johnson, who was well suited to managing rapid development cycles, was also fixated on the central theme of the project, having fun on the mountain.

During the development cycle, he, together with a number of the area's more adventurous skiers including Junior Bonar, Eddie Moe, snow ranger Peter Lev and others scored first firsts on pitches that were to become essential to the Snowbird legend.
