The city of Abu Dhabi is the federal capital of the United Arab Emirates (U.A.E.), a constitutional federation of seven emirates established in 1971. The city dates back to 1769 when it was founded as a commercial port. Its strategic location allows it to be a major trade center for the Middle East region.
