Innovative tourism idea in Spain: right-hand-drive car hire for British hirers
I was contacted yesterday by someone called Brad Sullivan who told me about a new service shortly to open in Spain, serving various popular airports - basically a company where British tourists may hire a car with the steering-wheel on the right, which according to the website would have the following benefits for those unfamiliar with driving on the 'wrong' side of the road:10 Exclusive Brit Car

The first rule of 'Fight Club' is: Don't talk about Fight Club!
A lesson a young man on a bus from Málaga to Madrid obviously had never heard of or had forgotten. Police have detained 19-year-old Oscar Eliseo on his arrival in Madrid because he was overheard speaking on his mobile telephone by an off-duty policeman and saying that he had stabbed a man to death. The off-duty policeman alerted the authorities to what he had heard and Eliseo was arrested upon his

Spain and Portugal Beaches
There is no better escape from the hassle and stress of life in the city than taking a vacation on one of the stunning beaches in the world. The luxury of feeling the warmth of the sun shining on your body, giving you that tanned and sun kissed look. More than perfecting a tan is the feeling of serenity, calming fresh air and the soothing and relaxing water hitting your feet. These simple

Approaching Gibraltar
After leaving Benalmdena on late afternoon, Saturday, the sky looked something like this. Black and heavy clouds were covering the mountains and great parts of the sea. We realized that the thunder clouds could create some problems and messed up winds, especially with the wind that already were building up, but we wanted to give it a try anyway. Went OK for the first hour, 15-20 knots of wind

Varnishing in Torrevieja
The five layers of varnish on the new cockpit sideboards* in okoume looks fantastic. Gives such a new, fresh feeling to the boat. Will show you more pics later on when the framings are mounted. We landed in Torrevieja late last night after a late departure from El Campello, 32 nm away. We've done some engine part shopping here today and will probably move on in a couple of hours when some

Morning in El Campello
Good morning folks,It's a beautiful day today! I will now take my little shopping cart and do some provisioning for the next few days. Heading towards the Mar Menor area later on and the winds seem to be in our favor, this morning. Hopefully we do not have to motorsail today again. Fed up with having to hear that noise all the time. We want wind in our sails! /T

Afternoon tea on the sea
Some chai tea and english biscuits makes for a perfect warming on chilly afternoons on the sea. Cause even though the weather might be as close to summer you can get daytime, the nights are still pretty cold - for a few more days before we get even closer to the African coast I suppose. We're enjoying the last sunshine hours tonight like this. /T

Celebrating life in Moraira
One of our Facebook friends, Jeremy, advised us to go to Moraira which apparently was very pretty - and after doing some shorter research on Google, we found out that Moraira indeed could be something worth trying. We arrived very late in the night, like always, 25 knots of wind was pushing us from South straight towards the tight entrance full of rocks and shallow water. But we made it through

Valencia
Right after we left our berth in Vinars for an 68 nm passage towards Valencia, we received an email from Gustavo Benavent, the manager of Marina Real Juan Carlos I - one of the official marinas for the Americas Cup. He told us that they've been following our blog for a while and wanted to invite us for a complimentary berth for our stay in Valencia. Of course we accepted the invitation! Although

Off we go
Goodbye Cambrils, we're now on the sea again. Finally some fresh crispy air, salty water in our face and a bit of action in our lives again. Good change from the quiet marina life we had the last couple of days. Let's see how far we get today.Adios for now! /T&A(And no, we're not sponsored by Helly Hansen, although that would have been very nice)

Cambrils
The passport has been found! It was in one of the pockets in Alex's jacket. A jacket which he barely wear, but had on for some days ago. For some reason I had given the passport to him to guard after we picked up something from the postal office. So let's partly blame him for this disappearance, no? Thank you all for your help in this drama. I guess John Butler was the one with the nearest

Still in Ginesta
We have a sort of an issue. We are stuck here. Although we wish to proceed, we're still having so incredibly much to do that we can't leave. Or we can but at the same time we wish to finish with at least a couple of the thousands of pending stuff still to check off from our list.... Port Ginesta is also one of the best harbors we visited in the Mediterranean so far and we're very happy to stay

Japanese provisions
Now we're ready for those big tunas again! Tons of sesame seeds, wasabi, rice vinegar, soya and nori sheets are purchased for a part of this tour. Is there anything more fulfilling than being able to catch your own fish and preparing fantastic sushi straight off the boat, under the sun, in the middle of an ocean? No! Will try making sushi with some other fish than only the tuna, next time. /Taru

Catching up on some sleep in Port Ginesta
Hey there,We've been totally exhausted lately, therefore the lack of updates. I haven't even opened up my laptop for the last one and a half days and that is something extremely unusual. We had our good bye meeting in the harbor on Saturday night. The farewells lasted until around 11 pm and when we have said our good byes and had some drinks, we decided to leave the boat where it was and go to

In Menorca
Unfortunately, we had to leave Mallorca without the BlueChart. However we manage it well the old school way with the paper charts until we'll find a shop who has the vision card in stock. We had a wonderful day today in Mahon, the sophisticated capital of Menorca, and we can much recommend it to anyone who wants a stylish Spanish vacation. Just got back to the boat for a peaceful dinner and we're

The simplest little fish dish
On longer passages it is important to eat steady meals with a lot of carbohydrates to keep your energy level high when time goes by slow. We've stocked up the boat with plenty of rice, pasta and potatoes and luckily the combinations with these along with proteins and fat (fish) are endless. This one is a perfect little dish that you can prepare with any sort of fish you might catch for the day or

La Rapita
We left Palma last night to get further down South. Got a peaceful and quiet sleep in the small village of La Rapita, and we woke up fresher than ever before. (At least first day totally fresh after the 48 hour fiesta in Ibiza. It's completely clear that we're not 20 any longer.) We have some smaller maintenance to do here on the boat before we can sail up on the South East coast. We're planning
